Yesterday Room 3 went on  exciting adventure to the local Museum. When we got there we learnt about Matariki and Puanga and the different stars. We learnt about the Maori New Year and what people do to celebrate this event. We learnt lots about the olden days and how people caught their food and preserved it until it was time to celebrate the rising of the Matariki stars. It was very interesting and we learnt lots of new information. We were even lucky enough to learn a few moves with the rako sticks which is a fun game they used to play to pass the time before play stations came along.

  1. It was a real challenge to catch the sticks when we had to throw them to each other!
